Production Journal - First Article

To begin with, I opened a new Photoshop document with the measurements of 297mm by 420mm. I make sure the resolution is at 300 and the colour is set to CMYK, as these are the ideal settings for printing Photoshop documents. I also used the rectangular marquee tool to draw a thin line down the centre of the page, and colour fill it black.

After this, I changed my mind about having a plain white background, so I colour filled my first layer black.

I then used the rectangular marquee tool to draw a rectangle along the top of the page to use as a background for the title of my article. I also colour filled it pink.

I then wrote out part of the title in my chosen font, BodoniXT, and placed it over the rectangle.

Next, I copy and pasted a section of my article over onto Photoshop, and changed its colour to white so that it would be visible on the black background.

I then copy and pasted more of my article over.

Plus, I then copy and pasted the remainder of my article onto the other half of my double page spread.

As the final touch, I opened the six images that I had taken during my photography stage as smart objects, and then arranged them on the double page spread so that there were three on each side.
