FX
In this image, I have used a drop shadow effect to make the word look three dimensional rather than two dimensional. To do this, I simply selected the small 'fx' icon located near the layers button. I then selected 'drop shadow', picked a colour (red), and then made the distance and the spread larger. I also changed the contour slightly to make the shape of the shadow slightly different. This adds the effect of adding dimensions to the text and making it pop out from the page.
Next, I decided to try the inner shadow effect instead. I repeated the same few steps as last time, and went to the 'fx' option at the bottom of the page, and picked a darker shade of pink than what I had put the originally wrote the word. I changed the contour, as well as the distance and the choke to make it more noticeable. This adds a three dimensional effect to the word, and is a very nice decorative effect to add to a page title or subheading.
As the last effect I chose to practise and experiment with, I used the outer glow effect. Like the title of the effect states, it adds a soft glow to the outside of the chosen effect, making it look similar to the lights you would see outside a store. Similarly to these other effects, I went into the 'fx' options, chose 'outer glow', picked a colour and changed the distance. The effect given is nice to look at, and gives harsh fonts a softer look.
